How do I register for a campout? All of our campouts will be on the events page. There are a couple important points you should be aware of. First, once per season you will have to register with the national longhouse and pay a small fee. You'll need to do this once per season. Second, some campouts are with the Eola Federation and some are just Calusa. For the Eola Federation campouts, there is a fee that goes to the Federation in addition to the Calusa fee that covers food, camping fees, etc. This additional fee is pooled between the tribes in the Federation and is used for activities at the larger campouts.

What is the National Longhouse? Eola Federation? How does Calusa fit?National Longhouse is the national organization under which this program operates. Eola Federation is our local (Orlando area) federation of tribes that Calusa is a part of. Think of this as one level down from the National Longhouse We are the Calusa! That's us!

What should a kid bring as far as entertainment? What kind of activities should she be prepared for?Recommend outside toys (footballs, frisbees, anything for catch, plus others will have games). Board games are a hit - chess is popular amongst dads and kids. Some of the kids will bring their bicycles.

How do the kids dress? Pants at night? Closed toe shoes? You're going to want your kids to be comfortable while also realize they're going to get dirty. A change of clothes for Saturday and Sunday and then something to sleep in is recommended. Pants and jackets at night, but we all know to watch the weather as you may even need gloves, caps, raincoat, etc. Closed toe shoes are great to climb and run around and on bikes and open toe for showers and in the water.
